My top favorite stories that predominantly feature Illyria. She isn't necessarily a main character but is important to the story.
Title: The Twelve Days of Christmas
Author:
bogwitch,
calove and
hesadevil, otherwise known as Cass, the Devil, and the Witch
Rating: I'm not sure but I think PG-13
Why I chose this: Roll over Dickens, you've been outdone. This story is fun, it's thoughtful, and it's just right for Christmas.
Title: Succor
Author:
bogwitch
Rating: NC-17
Why I chose this: I believe this was the first of the genre known as tentacle fic. It's unusual and explores places you wouldn't believe. Or maybe you would!
Title: Sucker
Author:
bogwitch
Rating: NC-17
Why I chose this: It's the sequel to Succor, and you know you can't read just one!
Title: PET
Author:
sexymermaid
Rating: NC-17.
Warning: Both the content and illustrations are NC-17.
Why I chose this: Another tentacle fic. Only for the adventuresome but well worth the adventure. Could Illyria learn to love Spike?
Title: Waiting for the Sun
Author:
cornerofmadness
Rating: NC-17.
Why I chose this: One of the things I love about this fandom is seeing the different ways in which the same theme can be treated. Another tentacle fic.

Date: 2005-12-18 02:22 am (UTC)Well, a lot of people find Dickens overdone, and he didn't have either Spike or Illyria as characters, so I don't think I overstate my case at all.

Date: 2005-12-18 12:13 am (UTC)I second Boggy's wow - Dickens, and then slap her legs over the Cordelia comment.

Date: 2005-12-18 06:21 pm (UTC)I have to admit to being somewhat disappointed at the distinct lack of non-shipper, non-slash entries so far.

Date: 2005-12-19 12:17 am (UTC)I aim to redress the balance a little by posting my own list when I've gathered all the links together. I may have to nudge Boggy to do the same when she's finished wrestling with her next chapter and the beta work for mine.

Date: 2005-12-20 05:22 am (UTC)This is crackfic if I ever read any and I enjoyed it all. Tenticles! It's crazy; everyone realizes that right? And I'm reading them and planning to look for more.
Well, at least I've got company.
Thanks for the recs and thanks to the original authors too.
Happy Holidays!
