Top Five Classic Spander Fics:

No Spander fan has never read this one, and if there is, they're clearly not real fans. This one is a real classic. A good classic. An alternative Season 4. Instead of Willow falling for Tara and realizing she's gay, it's Xander who goes through the coming-out drama as he falls for Spike.
2- Sweet Revenge by

A rewrite of season 5 but Spander style. Spike is the character that attracts me the most in this fanfic, usually fanficcers try their hardest to show us how Spike is worthy and deserves to be treated better, sometimes exaggerating to the point of showing him as a saint, even with his apparent flaws. Here though Jackson gives us the real Spike, the Spike who goes through major developments to improve with time for the person he loves without losing what makes him a vampire. I guess the fact that she's using S5 to write her fic helped her to keep Spike in check. Her Spike will always be my favorite Spike.
3- Sands of Time by
wolfling and James Walkswithwind
I love the writing of this, very well done, even though this Xander is more insecure than who we see on TV. This is more than just a Spander fic, this is about Xander and his sexual relationship with Spike, his father/son relationship with Giles (which I really adore) This starts during S1, the first fic that touches Xander's abusive home life. My favorite is Sandy Places in the Ground because it has lots of action and shocking moments.
4- The Stranger Things Series by

The plot and the sex are amazing, this is a Spander epic, it also has the fine pairing of Angel/Doyle. I like Spike and Doyle in this, they are nicely in character. I adore this epic, because it's so old and classical and you're not a Spander fan until you read it. My favorite story here is The Promise, it's so chilling and creepy, amazing action, and poor, poor Xander.
5- The Dark Cavalier by
sabershadowkat
sabershadowkat wrote many Spander fics but this is the only one with a Spike I like, as well as The Magic of Computers, because usually her Spike tends to be a bit girly. Her Xander is always nicely in character.
Note: The link for Sands of Time is fixed. :)

Date: 2007-10-28 10:20 pm (UTC)I've always been a bit sad there isn't more of Sands of Time. I mean, it's sort of not a wip, but there could be more.
By the way, the correct webaddress for Sands of Time is http://gila.faking-sanity.net/sandstime.html

Well, OK, your "Never been kissed" icon is pretty good too, she admits grudgingly. *giggles*
Going to check it out now though. ;-)
