Top 5 Firefly Fanfic Communities

yourlibrarian asked me to post a Firefly community post, so here it is! There are a lot more than this list suggests, of course, and if you're interested I will work up a more extensive list for you.


1. the_pretty_fits - this is the Mal/Simon comm and it's pretty active, though not as much as it used to be for some reason. The name is taken from a line in the episode "Jaynestown", which IMHO is the funniest Firefly ep ever.

2. jayne_simon - I'm sure it's pretty obvious what the pairing is here; the full name for the comm is, "the pompous pretty mouthed doc & his box-dropping man ape gone wrong thing." *g*

3. ff_fanfic - this is the main fanfic comm, though those of us who write slash don't tend to post here. It's pretty much gen or het fic only; each het pairing has its own site too, but since I don't read or write het I don't really know any of them.

4. fireflyslash - this site takes all slash and all pairings, both m/m and fem. If you want to post a Simon/Wash or Zoe/Inara fic, this is the place for you. They've recently gotten back to posting challenges, which is fun.

5. ff_friday - this is a weekly challenge comm that's pretty active; the mods tend to come up with really challenging prompts, and it's a lot of fun. (shameless self-pimp: I recently posted a fic to a prompt here.)

I had seen the poll you did last week, and the comments seemed to show that people weren't really interested in seeing Firefly stuff, so that's why I asked you to make sure.
