Thanks to everyone for coming out again this year and helping to spread some post-holiday cheer! Looking at the recs that have been posted it seems this fandom’s had a pretty good year. Here’s hoping for more of the same in 2007.

Special thanks go to the team of party hosts who have kept things running on our 24 hour schedule: petzipellepingo, shapinglight, alwaysjbj, downunderdeb, spikereader, and debris4spike. Helping us make things pretty and festive were amavel_bel and katekat1010.

We’ll be back again for our Classic Recs Weekend on October 27, 2007. So at that time you can rec anything you missed reccing for 2006 as well as for any year earlier than that.

Thanks to everyone who took the poll (which remains open) as those responses have been very helpful to know what we should be doing. Thanks also to everyone who contributed lists since there’d be no party without them! Also to everyone who commented and tossed some ribbons and those who pimped and blew party horns.

As for next year’s Top 5, keep us in mind as you find things you enjoy throughout the year. Someone (I forget who now) shared that they click posts into Memories with a Top 5 tag so that they can more easily put together lists at year-end. Also recs from posts you make throughout the year can find an archive here when we open again.

As a parting party favor, check out our community icons if you don’t already have one. Many can be used year-round to let people know Top 5 will be back (or how you came to someone’s post). We’ve gotten some great contributions from new readers and that’s thanks to the pimping many of you have kindly given us. Pass it on, and I hope to see everyone in October!

That top 5 tag is a fantastic idea. Part of what held me back from coming up with a list was that I have a hard time remembering a year of fic reading.

Oh it's very difficult to remember all the fic (and all the everything else!) I don't really use my memories, but I know other people are often in the habit of clicking something in there so that would seem to simplify the "finding" part enormously. I try to keep a list during the year but I often forget too and spend a lot of time going back later on.

I know I was meant to be on today, sweetie...I'm so sorry I've been on the missing list. The phone repair man came out to fix the phone that has been down for the last week and in the process he kept disconnecting my internet... have been without it for most of the day. *sigh* He tells me it is fixed now...but then so did the last repairman...and the one before that.

Kudos to you, yourlibrarian and lillianmorgan for developing this in the first place. IMO, this was the most successful Top5 so far, we had a huge variety of pairings, fictions, vids, manips, icons.
I'm already looking forward to the next one.
