Some old, some new, some I'm reading, some I'm saving for later, mostly Spuffy because that's where my heart lies.

Originally started way back in 2005 for a Spuffy Kinkathon, this fic is still ongoing (latest installment posted just a couple of days ago), the kink being hurt/comfort, and it's filled with lots of post NFA Spike, Buffy and Angel interaction, angst, understanding and misunderstanding. In the author's words "Buffy gets a mysterious summons from Giles that takes her to his estate in England. There, she finds Spike who, along with Illyria, was teleported out of the NFA alley in the midst of the big battle. Only hitch is, he’s in an unexplained comatose state, which may or may not have something to do with the infamous Shanshu prophecy."

One I've not started reading, and featuring Xander in a big way, as well as an ensemble cast. Post Chosen action/adventure genfic, recommended on the fact that all her fiction is well worth reading - well written, plotted and told (and so wonderfully gramatically correct, too).

It's the fic that just keeps going. Fabulous, complex, intriguing, original and imaginative with some wonderful OCs too. The author says: "Buffy and Spike find the meaning of love amidst the terror of a monster neither knows how to fight. Canon through BtVS Season Five and elements of the first two or so episodes of Season Six are used, but not completely. Then it's AU to the extreme. Inspired by the 2003 movie “In the Cut” which starred Meg Ryan. If you've seen it great, if not don't worry – it's a loose adaptation. "

Sequel to her fic "Collateral Damage", a post Chosen AU that made me cry. We're three chapters into the story and .... I can't say any more without giving things away. Go, read the fic.

Sequel to her fic "Ten Years After", pairing Spike with an adult Dawn. This is another fic I'm listing without having read, but I'm hoping that listing it here will give me the impetus to read the first fic so that I can continue with the sequel, which features Ethan, one of my all time favourite bad guys. Dawn's still the key, and someone wants her to unlock something.

Date: 2007-01-09 08:53 pm (UTC)I just need to come at it when my Spuffy brain is looking elsewhere.
i know what you mean! The scenario she writes though-- Dawn is much older, and stops aging-- really works. I think you'll like it!

Date: 2007-01-09 02:56 pm (UTC)On the other hand a WIP that had even 1 or 2 posts in 2006 is fine regardless of when it started. In fact I remember a while back seeing some excited posts from readers of a story that started a few years ago, had had a long hiatus, and got some new posts this year. Those restarted works can be news!

Well, I could probably come up with a list of at least five fics that would have me really excited if that happened.

Date: 2007-01-09 03:10 pm (UTC)Ooh, that leaped out at me :> Along with mysteries, adventure fic doesn't seem to be written that often. New tag!
Sounds a great group of stories -- thanks for the post.

Date: 2007-01-09 05:53 pm (UTC)I didn't read Collateral Damage until very recently, and was so taken up with it that I just couldn't stop myself from starting the sequel immediately. Hope you enjoy the other fics.
