I love a well done crossover and here are five short fics that are lovely examples of that craft. What I really like about all these is that they leave me wishing there was more but also very happy that they all work beautifully just as they are.
Invitation by spikedluv is a lovely bit of madness in which Hawkeye gets an unexpected invitation to an archery competition in Cleveland and is naturally suspicious that something nefarious is afoot. It is, but just not what he expects. This is great fun and melds the Buffy ‘verse and Marvel ‘verse beautifully.
Out of Phase by jedibuttercup is a super Buffy/Person of Interest crossover in which the Machine spits out Oz’s number and Reese gets more than he bargained for.
Heaven is Hell for Bad People by beergood is a terrific piece of BTVS/Dr Who. Spike goes to see the Ramones and runs into Clara Oswald. This is just…neat, as Spike would say.
Seventeen Years by bloodwrites is a BTVS/Supernatural crossover. It’s been 17 years since Sunnydale imploded and Anya died so both she and the Winchesters are a little confused when she turns up alive in the middle of a parking lot. This is a nice what if with a hint of pre-slash if your brain wants to take you there.
Fear is Never Boring by AuKestrel is a gem of a Due South/BTVS crossover. This is a lovely bit of stream of consciousness road-tripping with Oz and Ray Kowalski - there are Blues Brothers references, musings on the nature of love, nods to obscure bands and some lovely ambiguity about relationships.

I wasn't sure about Seventeen Years because I never got into Supernatural, but that was good.
