Calling all Top 5 Readers: POLL!

We've just finished our first week of Top 5 2006 and I would like to ask everyone reading to take a minute and fill out a poll on the community. This will give us a better idea on how it's getting used and how much interest there is in future sessions of Top 5. I may be very thick - but what is "library view"?

You're not thick :> It's called "Archive" or "Calendar" I think in the default LJ view. We dubbed it "Visit the Library" on the front page so I've gotten in the habit of calling it the Library view. It lets you view the posts either by day or by month. So you could see the titles of all the posts for the session at once.

I'm glad you brought it up -- it was dense of me not to realize people might have no idea what I was referring to (even if they were using it!)

It's a great concept. I have read many stories based on a rec from Buffyverse Top 5 that I might have passed by otherwise. So thanks for doing this. I didn't feel organized enough this year, but I hope you will continue with this so I can participate next time.

That's wonderful to hear, I'm glad it's something fun for you. And yes, list making can be time consuming, it's true. It can also be a fun scavenger hunt too though if you've got enough lead time ;>

Shit! I chose number 1 for "How helpful is the Memory feature?" and "How helpful is the Tags?"! I didn't read the '1 = very bad' stupid me...

Lovely poll, hopefully I'll post more recs next for year 2007.

LOL! Not to fear, the Memories won't be abandoned for a few 1 votes. It is helpful to know what people rely on the most though. I tend to think of the Memories mostly as a catch-all for the tags because they are much more restricted. lillianmorgan and I talked a lot about how we would use and organize it when we started out and I think the tags need to be made even more specific than they are now (especially with our recs growing and a 100 use limit).

And you've been contributing lots of wonderful stuff! I'm glad you're planning on more for next year.
