5 Xander Fics that I adored in 2010

I’ve shamelessly pillaged my end of year round up to put together this list. I’m a Spander girl, but I also love seeing Xander in other combinations, so here are five stories that I adored in 2010 with Xander and a variety of other people who are not Spike! I may have to lie down after typing that.


Rare B-Sides by crazydiamondsue is lovely, tantalizingly almost Xander/Giles. It’s got perfect dialogue and the most wonderful pop culture references.


Memo to Self by brutti_ma_buoni is Xander/Illyria - not the most intuitive pairing on the planet, but it works beautifully here. And there’s a brilliant movie poster by katekat1010 to accompany the goodies.


School’s Out by sam_arkand is a little slice of Xander/Cordy heaven with plum sauce on the side. Set after Graduation, this is just delicious.


The Super of Montmorency Hall by _beetle_ is Xander/Angel, which seems straight forward, but it’s anything but. Xander starts to paint a basement and Angel helps in his own inimitable way. I love the subtleness of the storytelling in this fic, just when you think you’ve got a handle on it, you step on a metaphorical landmine.


Finally, there’s Speak Comfort by allyndra. It’s Gen(ish) Xander/Riley – just three conversations over the years that give such insight into the characters of these two men who have more in common that it might look on the surface.
