elisi: Edwin and Charles (Default)
[personal profile] elisi posting in [community profile] buffyversetop5
I just realised that there might be people who've never seen 'Black Black Heart', and then I felt obliged to remedy this. After that I had to attempt to only choose four more vids... (RL is being insistent that I step away from the computer now, but I'm sure my selection will make you hunt down all the other vids these talented ladies have created!)

The first three are by [livejournal.com profile] dualbunny, whose vid tag is here.

Black Black Heart. Spike/duster. You MUST watch this! MUST, you hear me!

Spanish Doll. Dru vid. A quite astonishingly brilliant attempt at getting inside Dru's head.

Suburbia. From the vidder's notes: This is my poor tiny Buffy vid. I always think of her as the one that overcomes everything in the end. I wanted to play with what happens before the end. And I thought the sound of this song, and the inevitable flowing quality of the lead singer's voice, lent itself well to the notion of evil seeping into places and lulling you into both a false sense of security and eventual disenchantment. Buffy's been fighting a hopeless battle since the start. The First Evil is just the most recent in a long line of evils, waiting to finally break her down.

The last two are by [livejournal.com profile] charmax. Her masterlist is here.

Still Breathing. Spike's redemption song. (I love this vid to absolute distraction!)

Your Woman. Spike kidnaps Angel to find out why he never loved him. This vid is like the bastard son of “The picture of Dorian Gray” and “Reservoir dogs”. (There are no words to describe it. The editing is pure genius!)

Bonus rec (because I HAVE to run, or I'd totally make another post):

All vids by [livejournal.com profile] obsessive24, but especially 'Bachelorette'. (In the shape of a girl. Difficult to describe, but it's about feminism in the Buffy verse.)
