These are five stories which prove you can pack a whole lot of angst into less than a thousand words.
Cheating (Willow/Spike) by
lilbreck
What happens when something that was supposed to be casual turns into something that...isn't? This delicately dark-tinged tale of Season 6 infidelity gives us a very lost Willow and a very dangerous Spike. All in less than 700 beautifully-crafted words.
Better Than (Fred, Lilah) by
snowpuppies
This is incredibly dark and twisted with a gut punch of an ending. Not for those who need their Fred to have a happily-ever-after. Because when Lilah Morgan hands you a contract, the devil is in more than just the details. While this tale is not for everyone (heed the warnings), for those of you who like your dark!fic dark, this 900 word creation is more than enough to satisfy.
Hide and Seek (Willow/Angel) by
angelskuuipo
A drabble with all the force of a full-size fic. Sometimes the worst thing that can happen to you is to make someone's dreams come true...(and if I told you more, I'd ruin it for you, so just go read!)
Along Came a Spider (Buffy) by
deird1
Once upon a time...once upon a time there was a very big hole that no one knew was there. A very big hole where something important (that no one remembers) used to be. Buffy tiptoes around the edge of that hole in this exquisite and melancholy tale.
Roger Bear and the Little Girl (Cordelia) by
lily_lovely
This is a very different, and very affecting, take on Cordelia as a little girl, giving us a glimpse into the world behind the perfect facade. It's impossible to come away from this without feeling very sympathetic towards the girl who would become Queen C.
