When the seasonal and special project communities became a trend in the Buffyverse fandom one of the great pluses was that they served as an inspiration for the creation of all sorts of material on a theme, character or pairing. This not only meant a single site for all varieties of media but they also encouraged people to create new types of work for which there were no communities. Here are some of these communities, returning and new, for 2006.
1.
fall_for_sx had another good year, and is now one of the longer running seasonal communities, showing that S/X work is still going strong.
2. A new arrival last year,
fall_for_spike has helped step into the gap left by Summer of Spike as a forum for a variety of Spike related creations.
3.
noel_of_spike has not only become another Spike community during the year, but has served as a place to gather together holiday themed work as well, which is a festive way to end the year.
4.
winter_of_angel kicked off for the first time this past month as well and continues on in 2007 as a forum for all works on Angel.
5. The only non-seasonal community on the list,
buffy_love brings together not only media but is also open to essays and other meta relating to Buffy. It had a particularly active Buffy Love month in 2006.
