Top five unexpected experiences for 2006

1. velvetwhip's work is something I slowly discovered this year. I had no real interest in Willow fiction or stories, or anything sans Spike, but am now eagerily following her latest wonderful Angel/Willow angsty piece Escape Me Never. If I can love Angel/Willow fic, then you know it's good! WIP.

2. lit_gal's Toys S/X started out quite dark and semi-non con. I wasn't sure I was going to like this series, but it's clear that affection is growing between Spike and Xander. So it's supreme kink, but has some tenderness. Updated now and then.

3. I'd been reading incasink for a while and enjoyed her works, but I was completely involved with her spangel Seget and lived for each update (even as I hid from them) as she wrote this passionate story examining unwilling slavery and hot kink as Spike makes Liam his slave in an AU setting. Complete.

4. I don't read much het fiction anymore although spara was one of my first ships. But this piece was so light, fun and sexy it has lured me into a new interest in het fiction Drowning in Footwear 1/1 spara by c_woodhaven. Finished one-of.

5. spankspike started a very intriguing spander historical fic which I was enjoying last year with William as a whore and an Indian version of Xander as the brothel owner--very different! A Price Above Rubies (Spike/Xander). WIP.
