Five classic Xander/Larry fics

lusciousxander put up a wishlist entry for some Xander/Larry. It’s a pairing that can work wonderfully and it’s a shame there’s not more of it about.

I’ve got to start with nwhepcat’s Things We Never Talk About. Xander suffering from the “aspect of the demon” thing from Earshot while Larry finds himself having a shock initiation into the trials and tribulations of Scoobydom. And there’s a whole complication with Faith that always has me on the edge of my seat. Welcome to boy world…


No Xander/Larry list is complete without reremouse’s The Lion Lying Down with the Lambness of Xander and Larry. Larry comes out, Xander freaks, Larry is understanding, Xander is confused, Larry makes the case for neanderthals, Xander is kind of impressed and yeah there's some making out, and a broom closet and Buffy and Willow and some boy kissing and the prospect of Larry's grandma's lasagne. Awesome stuff.

Rayne Jelly’s What He Wanted is a lovely slice of angsty, bitter sweet as Larry contemplates all the things he hates about Xander. Because he does hate him...right?

And if that puts you in the mood for bitter sweet, try Gone South by beetle. This fic takes a left turn at Graduation Day when which Larry decides that taking on the mayor will probably be dangerous and decides to take the normal guys out of the equation. I love the thought of Larry getting an idea in his head and running with it. This is just a snapshot so you can make up your own scenario of what happens with the wider story.

And finally….mireille719 writes lovely Xander/Larry and a prime example of this is Holidays on the Hellmouth (Or How to Survive Your Boyfriend’s Freshman Year). As the title suggests, Larry is away at college and the boys’ relationship is measured in holiday visits. These snapshots are terrific and their relationship feels completely real.
