Feel me before I slip away
!. Help Me by Wolfling - Like Illyria, Doyle’s tenure on the show was rather short and thus there’s a limit to how many different takes can really be presented on him. What I liked about this one was the structure of the vid. Given the ending to Doyle’s arc one could question how much help Cordy and Angel were to him, yet I think the vid makes the case that he was better off having a purpose and having the end he did.
I’ve been telling lies to myself, now I’m so afraid to love at all
2. Here by Luminosity - All – Wes needs answers but now that he has them he’ll have no peace.
Sweet baby bring me your gifts, what surprise are you going to hit me with?
3. Essence by Sisabet – All – Not online at the moment. Although this is really more of a Spuffy vid, and therefore pre-AtS I think it still says something rather central to Spike himself. This vid seemed to capture the yearning Spike kept expressing, and which I think is one of the centerpieces of what people enjoy about seeing Spike in love.
It’s your life and your ability to become my perfect enemy
4. Passive by Little Heaven - All – If not for S5, I think there’s no question Connor’s arc would have been the most tragic one of all on AtS (and seriously, given what happens to everyone around him maybe Angel should stay removed from humanity...). I think this vid makes it easy to understand how Angel’s ruthless and desperate love for Connor would make it easy to sacrifice everyone for a chance at giving Connor a normal life. And perhaps not coincidentally, one that didn’t include him in it.
I like you best when you’re down with the rest of us
5. Struggle by Luminosity – All – As excited as I was to see Lindsey return in S5, I found him poorly used there. When I saw this video though I found it hard to get out of my head, it had something that just grew on me. In a way Lindsay seems to me the opposite of Wes. Equally obsessed with Angel, making one poor decision after another, and just as doomed in the end.
