1- Xanpet by Siege
Don't be fooled by the title and think it's a cheesy fic, no, this is an amazingly first person narrator fic set during S6, precisely the episode Normal Again during the scene Xander beats Spike up, Spike wishes Xander gets a taste of what it's like to be a Master Vampire's pet, because of Xander's bullying of Spike. Spike's wish comes true, and both Xander and Spike return back to the 19th century with Xander as Spike's personal pet. Spike gets to humiliate Xander for a bit before he begins to be attached to him. Xander gets to develop and grow into a stronger young man with a lot of patience, even though he still has his Xander thickhead. Told from Xander's point of view. My all time favorite classical Spander fanfic.
2- We're Not Gay. We're Just Friends. Who Have Sex by Juliatheyounger
Spike and Xander discover they have a couple of things in common. This is actually so funny, and a believable Spander goodness, very classical.

I love the writing of this, very well done, even though this Xander is more insecure than who we see on TV. This is more than just a Spander fic, this is about Xander and his sexual relationship with Spike, his father/son relationship with Giles (which I really adore) This starts during S1, the first fic that touches Xander's abusive home life. My favorite is Sandy Places in the Ground because it has lots of action and shocking moments.
4- The Stranger Things Series bytolerik
The plot and the sex are amazing, this is a Spander epic, it also has the fine pairing of Angel/Doyle. I like Spike and Doyle in this, they are nicely in character. I adore this epic, because it's so old and classical and you're not a Spander fan until you read it. My favorite story here is The Promise, it's so chilling and creepy, amazing action, and poor, poor Xander.
5- The Magic Of Computers bysabershadowkat
It's the year 2009, and Angel unknowingly hires Willow's company to design a website for Angel Investigations. Post Season 4/Season 1. This is a Willow/Angel fic, but still Xander/Spike is a main pairing. She wrote many Spander fics but this is the only one with a Spike I like, and probably The Dark Cavalier, because usually her Spike tends to be girly. Her Xander is always nicely in character.
