Welcome to the Classic Recs weekend -- we’re now open for posting! Just a few reminders and introductions.
Please remember to look at our user info for information about what should and shouldn’t be included in posts. Anything fan-created before 2006 is fair game, and should be made in 5 item lists. Please be considerate of your readers and remember to cut tag anything longer than 2 paragraphs, and put images behind the tag (with a warning if they’re not worksafe).

To kick things off here’s my list for Top 5 Vids – Series Tributes
Challenge what the future holds, try to keep your head up to the sky
1. Gotta Be by Wolfling – All - There is nothing particularly flashy about this vid but one thing I really enjoy about it are the well chosen clips for the vast variety of characters we got to know and love over the course of the two series. The song also has a kind of vaguely upbeat tone to it that evens out what really were a lot of highs and lows over the years. A nice view of the characters more than the shows.
Will it ever be the same again?
2. Original by
sadiquechienne – All - By comparison this vid is not flashy so much as a little impressionistic in the way it goes about looking at the characters and events of the series (BtVS only). It relies on a lot of linked images set in different times in the seasons and seems to be more what Buffy might dream about her own life than a viewer’s remembrances. Sadly her site is not online at this time. Any suggestions where to find this?
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy, they shall see God
3. Beatitudes by laura_shapiro - (Email for password) – All – This vid definitely goes for the heartstrings, in a sentimental look at the various characters on BtVS over the years that holds together beautifully.
Don’t believe the experts, everyone will sell our souls
4. Destiny by hazyshade - All – I think there’s a touch of humor here that I particularly enjoy in the review of two shows which had more than their share of tragic moments. I find this vid a good compliment to Beatitudes which takes a more emotional look at the series. I was surprised how well the lyrics suited different moments in the shows.
5. BtVS Abridged by Rowena - All – Eye-popping editing. As many times as I’ve watched this it still impresses me how she captured and put together just the right moment to do exactly as advertised -- sum up the entire series in about 3 minutes.
