Five Favourite Spuffy Tales
Jan. 3rd, 2012 08:05 pmI'm not primarily a Spuffy 'shipper. Or maybe I am. I can't decide. Whatever, many of the stories I enjoyed last year were Spuffy stories, and here are five of them.
And Take My Walking Slow by
snickfic,originally posted on Dreamwidth for
seasonal_spuffy, a post-apocalyptic Spuffy story featuring a Shanshu'd Spike and a broken Buffy. PG-13. Brilliant stuff.
The Slayer's Vampire Tryst, also by
snickfic, Spike/Buffy, PG, set in season 5 of BtVS. A fun romp that pokes fun at the old 'shag or die' trope.
The More Things Stay the Same by
quinara, also written for
seasonal_spuffy. Spike/Buffy, rated R. Set in BtVS season 6, Buffy goes to Wesley instead of Tara to find out whether she 'came back wrong.'
As Good as a Rest also by
quinara, sequel to the previous story, Spike/Buffy, rated R, in which Buffy suddenly finds certain aspects of Spike completely repugnant and doesn't know how to deal. Both stories showcase
quinara's unique take on this pairing, and in particular, her thoughtful, intelligent Buffy.
Perils of the Self-Domesticating Vampire by
hello_spikey Spike/Buffy R-NC17, set post-Entropy in BtVS season 6, in which Spike comes up with an unusual way of trying to make up for his drunken tryst with Anya. Unashamedly fluffy and delightful, with great input from Dawn.

Date: 2012-01-03 09:20 pm (UTC)I really enjoyed Quin's first one, but the sequel completely surpassed all my (already high) expectations. Bringing Kate Lockley into BtVS was pretty much genius. Gives me hope that there is still plenty to discover through fanfic. *happy sigh*

Date: 2012-01-03 11:15 pm (UTC)And, heh, that really is the plot of As Good as a Rest, isn't it? It's funny, but Buffy's repulsion was actually quite a late addition to the construction of the story, so I tend to forget that it's what it's about... *iz a very strange person*
Ooh, links!
