I am not sure if these have been recommended before but I am certain that these stories need to be mentioned as the top slash for 2005. In no particular order since each story is fantastic in its own right.



Title: The Perpetuity of Need

Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Dark, sexual content, nudity, angsty
Why I chose this: It's NC-17, dark with a fair touch of angsty, Spike/Riley, and takes place during a few key moments during seasons 5 & 6 of Buffy. Oh yeah, it's brilliant! Go on and read!

Title: Dual Purpose

Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Dark, sexual content, nudity
Why I chose this: I stole this summary from Amy's LJ... I think that it sets it up better than I ever could. "fairly dark Spike/Lindsey slash, set during a slightly timeline-altered AtS season 5. The only difference is that, for my purposes, Cordelia isn't yet awake when Lindsey visits Spike's apartment at the beginning of You're Welcome; the beginning of the story picks up in the middle of that scene, in an alternative version in which Eve's interrupting phone call never came.  The dialogue in italics at the beginning of the piece is the scene up to the point at which I take over (*insert evil villain laugh here*), provided for clarity's sake.  The story is rated NC-17 for language and sexual content; usual disclaimers (not mine, pose them like porny action figures for fun and not profit, all is Joss's) in full effect."

Why I chose this: A dark, wonderful Giles/Ethan fic that has converted me to the pairing. A really lovely read.

Title: In the Hands of Angelus

Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Dark, sexual content, nudity
Why I chose this: NC-17 Angelus/Fred/Cordy, ATS 4, dark twist on "Souless" This story is chilling look into Angelus. Very addictive. I have read it more than a few times now.

Dear me, imagine my shock when I saw that older fic there. I'm truly honored, Selene, as I had no idea. Well, I'll have to finish it in 2006, obviously.

And I must say that Amy's two pieces of her first slash were so good they blew me completely away. She's one of the most amazing writers in fandom. Thank you for putting me anywhere near her. *hugs*

Thanks for such a varied list. I'm most pleased that Amy's two fics made their way onto your list, because I had them and was wondering how to work them in somewhere :) alwaysjbj's fic too was a great read.
I don't think I've read the last two so those will be interesting to look at. And that's nice that the 4th fic took inspiration from you.

I was completely blown away by your story. When I joined a_darker_angel it was one of the first stories that I read... and it definitely left a lasting impression. So good of the the gah variety!

I would love for you to continue the story. It is such an awesome concept and I can't wait to see where you take it. I really love this story and want others to get a chance to read it... Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent.

Actually everything that I have read of killerweasel has been fantastic... "Haunted" was the first piece that I read. I have rediscovered a complete love for all things Lindsey. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did.

I really love reading different characters and find myself straying father and farther from my Spuffy roots. I love all pairings so this community has been such a blessing for me. It is harder to find different pairings outside of Spuffy (at least it is for me).
