5 Short Gen Classics
Oct. 27th, 2011 06:56 pm1. And I Will Therefore Fix It, by
spuffyduds
This fic is set during Bargaining and yet is possibly the single best Restless-related fic I've ever read, and is also a marvelous character study. The night before the big night, Willow dreams.
2. Dial N For Nancy-Boy, by
deird1
A sprawling, multi-season fic chronicling Spike and Angel's long-distance phone relationship. In drabbles. Hilarious and poignant by turns, and deeply rooted in canon.
3. In the Living Season, by
jen_nsync_landl
Theoretically a Spuffy fic, this is actually a long, heartbreaking drabble series of Spike and Scoobies and grief over the long sad summer. Gorgeously written.
4. Many Happy Returns, by
erimthar
Sometime just pre-S8, Xander surprises Buffy on her birthday. Sweet and poignant, sure to give you warm fuzzies.
5. The Last Fingers of Leaf, by
quinara
Illyria's in town, and Buffy ends up playing hostess, which, in this case, involve pizza and dragon. In the midst of it Buffy discovers she has more in common with Illyria than she'd have thought. I love unlikely friendship fics, and this is a lovely specimen.
