I was planning to split my last two categories differently, but then I realized Willow was taking over both of them. So, here she is. All short, mostly dark because there's something about Willow that draws the existential angst like no one else.
It's worth noting that three of these come from the short-lived and much-lamented comm

1. Triplicate, by

post-Chosen
There are so many Willows bouncing around her head that she's having trouble hearing herself think. Brief, chilling, sympathetic, entirely believable, and all the more fascinating for its nonstandard structure.
2. Half Full, by
beer_good_foamy
Willow's researching, as usual, but when she spills her water glass everything starts going wrong. This is the very best kind of horror: the kind that sneaks up when you aren't looking to bring you to the unexpected yet inevitable conclusion.
3. The Slow Side Into..., by
snowpuppies
Sometime during the high school years
Willow starts having dreams. Another elegant bit of horror, although the horror is a bit more direct this time and from a radically different source than in "Half Full."
4. Within, by
ladyofthelog
S8 - Willow/Tara, Willow/Xander, Willow/Aluwyn, Willow/Kennedy
It says something about this fic that it features so many ships and yet isn't about any of them. This is about Willow, chasing her power any way she has to and then doing whatever it takes to find her way back, sort of.
5. What Comes Next, by

AU S7
After the events in "Grave," Willow makes a different choice about the coven in Devon and what it means to start over again. Finally, a less bleak Willow-future, quiet and atmospheric and hopeful.
