Here are five entries that illustrate why I love my fandom, in no particular order, though the first one is very important to me personally.
For the last two years, I've been writing a long (oh boy, is it long!) fic called Age of Unreason, and I've had the very good fortune to have
sueworld2003 as a collaborator. This first entry is another of the superb illustrations she's made for the story, without which it just wouldn't be the same at all.

Zugma, or
uglybusiness, is one of the best - if not the best digital artists around, and we are so, so lucky that she loves the Buffyverse and still finds inspiration in it.

A third great artist working in the fandom, and yet another reason to love it, is
marvelgirl_art. Here are links to two amazing digital portraits (hope that's the correct term - if not someone please tell me) that she's posted this year, which I think work beautifully as a pair.

Another reason why I love my fandom is that even now it's attracting great new writers, whose enthusiasm for the shows gives the whole fandom a boost, not to mention bringing a fresh perspective and helping even us jaded old timers to see things in a new way. Lots of their stories have been recced already, but here's another one.

And finally, if wonderful artists and great new writers weren't enough reasons to love the fandom, there's also the fact that writers who've been around for a long time can still find inspiration in it and still thrill us all with their writing. I was so pleased when
estepheia came back and posted another chapter of her wonderful Giles/Ethan fic Broken English, Giles/Ethan, R. It's still a WIP, but I've high hopes that this year will see it finished. And in the meantime, there are 10 great chapter to catch up with.
Yep, we're a lucky lot all right.
