It’s no secret that I’m a Xander-centric writer and reader, so here are five Xander fics that really got under my skin in 2012.

Xander’s Kingdom by il_mio_capitano is terrific Xander, Giles Gen. The boys have been in the desert searching for a magical dodaah for Buffy, but things haven’t gone exactly to plan. The atmosphere in this is great and there are lines of dialogue that just kill me. (Xander, Giles, PG13)

Five Great Fics You Might Have Missed in 2012

These are five stories which don't feature popular ships and so might have flown under your radar. Give them a chance, because they're really worth reading!

1) Le Petit Mort (First Slayer/OFC; NC-17) by snogged - I realize that the First Slayer isn't the most well known of Buffyverse denizens, but this ficlet features her in the most intriguing way. An angsty-sexy take on the beginnings of a primal battle that will surely satisfy.

Five Boffo Bangel Fics From the IWRY Marathon

Here are five extraordinary entries from this year's superb round of iwry_marathon.

1) Swan Song (Buffy/Angel; PG) by librarian2003: If you haven't discovered Jo's impossibly brilliant stories by now... well, you have missed out. Whether you like the Buffy/Angel pairing or not, this story (like all her others) will leave you breathless with awe and emotion. Also, you'll never think of Swan Lake the same way again.
