My top 5 picks for the best guest shot on BtVS. Drum roll please :
1. Sweet in OMWF A singing and dancing demon complete with a sparkly costume. Who can beat that?
2. Holden in CWDP Compassionate and evil in equal measures. And of course, we all know what that gig lead to.
3. The Gentlemen in Hush Soundless fear comes gliding past your windows in the dark. Yikes!
4. Whistler in Becoming Parts 1 & 2 The guy who comes to explain what's going on to Buffy and gives her the sword and the confidence to do what she has to do in the end. Nice hat too.
5. Olaf in Triangle Where's the beer and the babies? Some of the funniest Buffy dialogue to come out of a character's mouth.

Who made a great impression on you?

Hee, good calls!

I really liked Tucker Wells in The Prom. Just that sequence where he claims to 'have his reasons' for going fruit-loop and trying to kill everyone. The reasons turn out to be that his prospective prom-date said no. Too cute.

I liked how often they turned the best minor characters - Jonathan, Amy, Spike - into recurring heroes and villains.

Are you going to do another list for best AtS guests?

Great idea! I think you've picked out some of the best moments. Especially the Gentlemen ::shivers::
I always quite liked Cassie in Help because she was this interesting character who kinda focussed Buffy in that moment in time. I guess her cryptic comment was also interesting. ;)

I love Spike's guest shot in Lover's Walk and any appearance by D'Hoffryn is always welcome.

great choices .. especially Olaf *g*
but for me Sunday (The Freshman) has to top the list ... for a guest appearance she certainly made an impression on me ... and possibly the Gorch brothers ... there's just something endearing about them ... even with their mass-murder tendencies

Hard to argue with anything on this list! Of course one of the biggest problems is that anyone who was really good in a small part tended to get brought back into increasingly bigger parts!

Fun list! I always loved Holden from CWDP. It was too cool to see him pop up on AtS.

yep ... I'm still hoping for that perfect fic where Spike meets Sunday instead of Harmony (and helps her avoid dusting by Buffy), and we get an alternate series 4 ... because I can see things taking a different turn if it was Sunday in the same place as Harmony ... :)
however if you haven't read it already Sunday Girl (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=deadsoul820&keyword=Sunday+Girl&filter=all) by [livejournal.com profile] deadsoul820 is well worth a read as a pre-series Sunday/Spike fic
