Five Completed Fics That I Loved

I'm hoping to do a post for WIPs I'm enjoying that were started last year before the 20th, and in the meantime here are five more completed fics I particularly liked in 2007. Lots of different pairings and none.



First some good, old-fashioned Spike/Angel slash, with great character voices. Both sexy and hilariously funny.

Next one of the best gen fics I read last year. What if Illyria alone survived the fight in the alley? Where would she go?

Now more Illyria, this time interacting with Buffy in an increasingly dangerous NFA world. Written for the Buffy is the Hero, Dammit! ficathon.

I've already mentioned hello_spikey as a new writer in the fandom. She does the most wonderful character voices and dialogue and this is one of her completed fics that I thought particularly well-written. It's set in season 6 of BtVS and though it goes AU from early in Spike and Buffy's torrid relationship, poor soulless Spike is just as believably clueless as ever about why it's so hard for Buffy to be with him. He also - ironically for a vampire - bites off rather more than he can chew when he tries to help Buffy financially.

Finally, another new story from peasant_. It must have been a gala year. This being a Peasant fic, it's Fanged Four historical and as so often, it's not long before poor, clueless William lands himself in trouble.

Oh, I read Indri's fic about the Burkles and the desert pixies and loved them both!!! Excellent recs.
