Epic - not all epic in length, but in scope they certainly are, these are fics with ambition, stuffed with plot and thinky thoughts.
wesleysgirl, All the Sky You Need (Angel/Spike, NC17): Spangel in the Fireflyverse, fulfilling everything you might think that might be.
shapinglight, The Worst Journey in the World, which took the prompt of a frozen sea and spun beautiful Spuffy and outstanding post-NFA Wesley from it. Without shrimp.
dipenates, A Watcher Scoffs At Gravity, which isn't long but feels like part of a much bigger story post-Bargaining, that doesn't quite need telling because this puts so much of what might be into the reader's mind
thisficklemob, Riddled; painful injury to Spike and its aftermath, full of horror but not gratuitously so.
snickfic, Seraph: mpreg with grace, sense and not a sniff of romance. Just Spike, dealing, and learning to cope, and some beautiful interaction with Buffy and Dawn.

PS And I would have had
shadowscast, Longest Day Ever here if another hadn't just recced it. It fits this category perfectly.
