In this election season I'm asking for your vote! buffyversetop5 is and always will be about sharing recs, but during this Classic Recs session I think it's probably apparent to everyone that as the fandom gets older, more and more material is disappearing or moving to different online spaces. As a result, a lot of us can't find things anymore.

This situation has always been particularly acute with vids. Something that seemed a solution for hosting problems a few years ago -- streaming sites like YouTube -- have been hit too as many vids disappeared from there in this last year due to copyright sweeps.

So I'd like to know if Top 5 should now also include fic/vid/art/etc. searches in its posts as well as recs. Given the short periods in which the community is open I think the typical spur-of-the-moment fic search isn't a good fit here. But especially during Classic Recs, which is all about sharing the enjoyment of older works, it seems posts that include recs for something the reccer hasn't been able to find would be a good way to get someone coming up with an answer.

How about it? Is this something you would like to see included? We don't have polling capabilities but a quick yes/no (or longer comment) will work.
