I've spent a lot of time this year reccing this story, and now I'm going to rec it again.
In the Morning of the Magicians byindri, Giles/Ethan, R. indri is one of the all time greats of the fandom, and this novel length fic shows you why. Set in London in the early 70s, it tells in brilliantly imagined detail of Ripper's first meeting with Ethan Rayne and of their catastrophic raising of Eyghon. The sense of place and period is just wonderful.
