5 Works in Progress
Three Spuffy, two not, all things that had new chapters this year and that I'll be really excited to see finished!
1. The Vampire in the Basement, by
beneficia - (7/16? chapters)
post-BtVS, AU Sherlock
Dawn Summers, latest vampire with a soul, wants 221A Baker Street for her very own. Only there's this obnoxious guy from upstairs who will not quit snooping, and damn if Dawn's going to let that slide. I would never in a million years have thought that the world needed a Dawn/Sherlock crossover, but I am so glad there is. If anyone's going to put Sherlock in his place, it's Dawn.
2. I've Heard It in the Chillest Land, by
mediumrawr - (1/3 chapters)
post-everything
The latest installment in a series of Faith/Giles fics, this one has plot! And exploration of Buffy-angst! And, we hope, another step in the Faith/Giles relationship. Exciting stuff.
3. When the Rest of Heaven is Blue, by
ruuger (2/6 chapters)
post-everything
Spike and Buffy travel a little farther back in time than they meant to, and run into Spike's mother. Cue angst, oh angst. Wonderful voices, great humor, and lots of small sweet Spuffy moments in between the angst.
4. At Your Service, by
dampersnspoons (24/? chapters)
Buffyverse AU
There are demons and ghosts and supernatural doings, but not as we know them; Spike's a vampire and Buffy's the Slayer, but not quiet as we know them, either. Half the fun is watching Dampers remix the canonical Buffyverse elements, and the other half is watching Buffy kick demony butt and fall ever harder for Spike. Lots of fun.
5. The Spikeid, by
quinara (6/12 books)
post-NFA
The post-apocalyptic epic poetry with Spuffy in it that you never knew you wanted. Yes. Really impressive stuff.

(I actually feel a bit sheepish about reccing you here, because I haven't been keeping up. I was having trouble keeping track of the plot between installments. But I'll get back to it. I will!)

(Oh, I was wondering if you'd read the latest ones, but I didn't like to ask! Sorry about being so slow; I hope you enjoy it when you get round to reading. Book VI is super-Spuffy...)

Messing with Dawn is never a smart idea.
