There are so many great body swap stories from our talented Buffyverse fic authors that it's hard to winnow a list down to just five! The following stories are not only classic, they are packed with Ideas and Concepts and stand up to (many) repeated readings. First, a couple of quickies:

Xander/Anya, Willow/Tara, Spike/Buffy. S5. A demon encounter switches Buffy, Spike, Tara, Xander, and Anya into their opposite genders. Wackiness ensues, along with some eye-opening consciousness-raising all around. 28+ chapters.

Spike/Buffy. S6. Spike plans a romantic getaway with a skittish Buffy that includes getting away from everything, even their own bodies. F/M, F/F. 2 chapters.

Poetic Justice by lusciousxander (NC-17)
Xander/Spike. S6-S7. After Seeing Red, a careless wish leads to Xander becoming a girl. Spike is needed to break the curse, but he's nowhere to be found. 2 chapters.

Ooh, I love body swap stories and I've only read two of these!

Just one note, an LJ-cut after the first or second item keeps things a little more manageable on people's flists ;)

I suppose the first one is more accurately a "fallout from body swap" fic, but it's one I pimp whenever I can.

Oh, all right, I'll put in a cut. I'm getting more and more resistant to clicking. It's probably because of the cool DW expando arrow, which lets me stay on my reading/friends page and still see the good stuff.

Do I ever hear you on the expansion arrow! It's addictive isn't it? Once you can expand and collapse so simply it is indeed a pain to have to go back to clicking in and out, especially if you aren't planning to open the comment box. So very useful for things like potential spoiler discussion, for example.
