Five Stories I Really Liked (and that's all they have in common)

In a mad rush to offer one more list before time runs out, I am offering up five stories which have nothing in common except for the fact that I really like them. Hope that's good enough.

Gabrielle

1) These Five Words I Swear to You (Spike/Joyce) by [livejournal.com profile] angelskuuipo: Okay, I have to admit that I'm a big Joyce fan and I love seeing stories where she gets to take center stage. This? This is a crackerjack tale of Joyce being the center of Spike's attention at the best possible time. If you're looking for something that will bring happy tears to your eyes, this is your story. It's fabulous!

2) Family Conversation (Angel/Connor) by [livejournal.com profile] ash_carpenter: Before we go any further, I need to warn you that this is DARK and twisted as twisted can be, but it's also amazing. Beautifully crafted and believably characterized, it's a creepy and disturbing look at what might have transpired if Angel had given into his inner demon and dealt with Connor the way a vampire would deal with betrayal by a member of his own family. If you can handle it, this is a trip well worth taking!

3) Living in a Dream (Willow/Angel) by [livejournal.com profile] inell: This is a rare recent effort in the Buffyverse by one of the legends and she's still got it, giving us a delicate but very creepy tale that leaves us wondering which is the dream and which the reality. Thanks for coming back to us, [livejournal.com profile] inell, if only for a moment.

4) Shanshu (Spike/Willow, ensemble incl. OC's) by [livejournal.com profile] dragonyphoenix: I pimped this during Fandom Snowflake, but I have to do it again, because it's THAT awesome. What's awesome about it? Her portrait of a Spike who lost his memory when he gained his humanity? The utter reality of the relationship between Buffy and Angel? The terrifically chaotic battle scenes? The marvelous OC's who never swamp the characters we know and love? How about all of it. It's a WIP, so get on board this train and join the fun as we journey through a truly imaginative little 'verse!

5) Mission(What Matters No Matter What) (Nikki Wood) by [livejournal.com profile] snogged: Ever wonder just how Nikki got that coat? Well this story gives us a terrific account of just that very event as well as a cracking portrait of a character we saw little of in canon, a character who well deserves the greater attention she gets here. If you're interested in those other Slayers, the ones who came before, then this is absolutely a story you MUST read!
