5 Babyfics
Babyfics are a major guilty pleasure of mine. These, however, have no guilt whatsoever associated with them. Five pairings, five different flavors ranging from sweet domesticity to character study to tear-your-heart-out angst.

Absolution, by Minim Calibre
Buffy/Wesley; R
Post-S6 (and post-S3 for Ats), Buffy and Wesley find a night's comfort together. With consequences. This bittersweet fic is what got me interested in Buffy/Wesley, a pairing that seems almost natural considering that they're the people on their respective shows whom life never gives a break.
You Think She’s an Open Book (but you don’t know which page to turn to), by
spuffyduds
Fred, Lorne; PG-13; non-graphic rape
Post-NFA, Lorne, Hell's newest bureaucrat, meets a little girl singing a familiar song. Brief, canon-compliant, and oh, heartbreaking. So much in so few words, as is usual with
spuffyduds.
The Haunting, Hunted Kind, by
selenak
Darla, Connor; PG-13
For some time, Darla has been seeing a ghost. Gorgeous in its complexity and every bittersweet interaction, and a fascinating character study leading up to "Lullaby."
Ouroboros, by
st_salieri
Spike/Buffy; R
This is a marvelous example of the hopeful, sweet, domestic style of babyfic. Quiet, down-to-earth, unromanticized yet full of wonder at the marvel of new life, and beautifully characterized. Now intertwined with the not-yet-classic but equally marvelous Three Nights Spent in Bed.
Corpus et Sanguis, by Trekker
Giles/Willow, Giles/Ethan; NC-17
This mid-S5 AU is the mpreg fic of the Buffyverse. Excellent characterization, perfect lines - the first scene is worth it for Anya alone. Plus it sets up the Giles/Willow ship wonderfully and deals with Willow's magic use in believable, organic way. Just fabulous all around.

It's one of approximately two Buffy/Wesley fics that I've read. I'd like to see more, though, and
