Rogue Demon Hunter: Top 5 Wesley Wyndam-Pryce Fics

1. Absolution - Part I and Part II by minim_calibre (R) - This is my all-time favorite Wesley story (which is why it's above the cut). It's definitely in the Top 10 Best Buffyverse fan fictions I've ever read--probably in My Top Ten Best Fanfics Ever, in any fandom, actually. It also has the distinction of being the first baby!fic I'd read that I thought actually *worked*. This is particularly surprising, considering that it's the Chosen One herself who is pregnant (given the heading of this post, you likely can already guess who the father is). However, this story actually deals with the implications of the Hellmouth being sans Slayer. I mean, you really can't do a roundhouse kick in the third trimester. Without this fic, I probably would have never dared to read any other baby!fics, since it is a genre that is so rarely well-done.

2. Close Encounters of the Mongoose Kind by gilascave (PG-15) - This ficlet rec is for your amusement and betterment. Even if you have no time to read anything else on this list, read this short fic. It will brighten your day. Plus, I had to get a Giles/Wes in this list, somewhere. ;)

3. Et Tu by minim_calibre (PG) - Ever think Wesley got a bum rap for being a "betrayer"? That the punishment exceeded the crime? While he was wrong about Connor, it was a well-intentioned, well-reasoned sort of wrong. This character study of Wes by minim_calibre would seem to agree.

4. Five Ways to Have a Happy Ending, and Not One of Them True also by minim_calibre (PG) - Five ways Wes and Lilah didn't work out. minim_calibre is one of the best at capturing Wesley's voice, and I can recommend *any* of her fics involving our favorite Rogue Demon Hunter. Even though Wesley and Lilah were probably the most screwed up canon couple in the Buffyverse, this fic makes you think they could have--and maybe *should* have--worked.

5. 40 Days of One Night Stands by jennyo (R) - You shouldn't listen, but you do anyway. I'm always reccing Jennifer-Oksana's work, across a multitude of fandoms, but she really is that good.

3 and 4 seem to be having problems (#4 seems to think there's a server problem). You're right about #2, fun little argument between Giles and Wes -- I especially liked his bottomless sleeves.
