My Personal Favorite Top 5 Classic Fics
I both read and write all over the map, so my recs tend to reflect that variety. Following are five stories I have read and enjoyed over and over. Hopefully, you'll find something to your taste among these classics.
5. Niagara!Verse by
rayne_y_daze.
A series of drabbles, set after Hell's Bells. Xander and Lindsey, both emotionally broken, develop a relationship. This doesn't seem to be a pairing that is often written, but
rayne_y_daze makes it work.
4. It's Got to Be Perfect by Speaker-to-Customers.
Buffy makes a wish to turn Spike into the perfect boyfriend, but there are definite consequences, of course, all done in the inimitable
speakr2customrs' style.
3. The Watchers' Diaries: The Apocrypha by Caro.
Takes place in Post-Wrecked in S6. Giles has returned to Bath, and is again working for the Council. He receives a letter from an old "friend"/nemesis in Sunnydale. A correspondence between Giles and Spike begins, keyed to the episodes as they aired, and also includes scenes from both Giles' and Spike's lives not seen in canon. This fic has everything - plot, characterization, and it's just plain neat.
2. Rodeo Series by Crazydiamondsue.
Xander. Angel. Gay cowboys. Before "Brokeback Mountain" captured the public's interest,
crazydiamondsue did it better - and much hotter. Caution: You may need to take a cold shower after reading this series. *g*
1. Amnesia!Spike by Mahaliem.
Set in S6. Spike loses his memory and hilarious consequences ensue. This fic may be the funniest thing I've ever read, and I've read it alot. I love the characterizations, and it hits just about every major ship in the 'verse, in a humorous, twisted, very funny way. I love this fic!

And you know I love "Rodeo" like pancakes. That series is one that I've printed out, put in plastic sleeves, and it even has its own binder. Millennium Falcon! Dump Truck! Three-beer-queer Lindsey! The smell of Icy Hot and desperation! God, I love that fic!!! And I love you, too!

Aw! It's own binder! I'd forgotten Icy Hot and desperation. Snerk. I love you, too, babycakes.
