Top five favorite manips from 2005.

Here is a list of my top five (that I can find) manips of 2005. I might need another few hundred categories for all of them, but here are five. These are all Spike, including one spander and one spiley.

I'm hugely influenced by fan art. Here are a few pieces that influenced me this year. I hope you enjoy.

1. A spru manip I first saw on a forum by [livejournal.com profile] patpaws which she transformed later into my first lj banner. Here's the beautiful original. Just Spike's back and hinted rear end, but not totally work safe. Spike nude back here

2. I can't even begin to cover all of the work that [livejournal.com profile] sueworld2003 has done that I've loved. I think this is her favorite manip for Kept, my spander, and it's one of my favorites too. Worksafe: Spander from Kept

3. This piece inspired a story from me as well as being made into an lj banner for someone else. It's fantastic work. Not work safe. Manip by art_bites And just to show you that manipers experiment before they finish a piece, here is the early raw version of this one: Raw full nude Spike

4. The piece that inspired me to write spiley by [livejournal.com profile] sueworld2003 here Work safe.

5. One of my favorite manipers is [livejournal.com profile] debart. She's got a magical touch with brush strokes so her works have a luminescent quality. This is probably one of my all-time favorites from this year: Beautiful nude Spike. Not even remotely work safe.

Thank you so much for the rec love. That spander piece is one of my favorite's aswell.

It's wonderful to be mentioned in the same list as 3 other top notch 'blenders'.

Yes, I particularly like the Spike/Xander manip from [livejournal.com profile] sueworld2003 as well. It's so evocative of the pairing.
But there are some wonderful pieces of work here. I'm particularly impressed by how seamless they are and the one by [livejournal.com profile] art_bites is very apt. Who hasn't thought of Spike as the muse? :)

Such very different styles in all these, too. I don't know as I'd have the patience to do this sort of work. Of course I think the same thing when I see vids!
