Top 5 Crossovers

1. Them Downtown Boys Sure Talk Gritty by musesfool - Adult – I have to say it never occurred to me how perfectly Kaylee and Dean Winchester suit one another, but I think it would be clear to anyone after reading this fic. The only downside is that it makes me long for more stories where the Winchesters continue their adventures in the Fireflyverse.


2. goddessleila has one of those in her first installment of Like Blood, Like Honey - R- , a series of ficlets crossing SPN over with other universes. In this one, she does so with Buffy, and the groundwork she lays is so intriguing I wish this were an entire fic.

3. Emerald:River and Sapphire:Cordy by penny_lane_42 - PG-13 – A three part post with a Firefly and Angel section (and FNL). The second is an outside view of the Tams. I've seen a few Firefly fics where one or both Winchesters came aboard Serenity but not one that suggested what it might be like for the Tams to come aboard the Impala for a long haul. The last focuses on Cordelia though Dean Winchester's eyes, and though it's brief I rather like the way it suggests how a relationship might go.

4. The Feel of You by dana_chosenart - Teen – I liked the look of this wallpaper which pairs Dean and Buffy. There's also a very vivid wallpaper of Buffy in this post, which captures the feeling of her asylum life in Normal Again.

5. Strawberry Fields - Adult - ultraviolet9a - R – Sweet SPN AU with a Kaylee crossover. An idyll in Dean's youth, with a hopeful ending.

I'm not much of a crossover fan, but no 4 sounds very interesting. Thanks for the links.

A crossover is a difficult thing to pull off well. I suspect this is one reason why many are short because one has less of a challenge meshing worlds and whole casts of characters.

Truly. Even if our fandom had a central archive there's such a lot of other-than-fanfic material getting posted that there's a wealth of things that slip through the net.

Okay, I haven't started reading No 4 yet, but the wallpaper is incredibly beautiful. One thing though, it's making me realize that Buffy and Dean look like siblings. The same complexion type (caucasian but tans easily) and dirty blonde hair.
