I don't know any of 2 through 5, but couldn't agree with you more about [livejournal.com profile] herself_nyc. Her Spuffy was not only the reason I got into BtVS fanfic, but it was also (with her encouragement along the way) was the reason I ended up renting the entire BtVS series and watched it when I hadn't before.
